Spark AR can be used to create many kinds of AR experiences, such as face painting effects, makeup effects, face deformation, AR games, Hand tracking effects, AR portals, and more. Due to its huge range of different features, the program seems intimidating to understand and use for new users, but when the basics are understood, creating a high-quality effect becomes easy. The intent of this article is to introduce you to some of the main features of Spark AR's interface including, the Toolbar, scene panel, assets panel, viewport, and more.

Spark AR welcome screen
When you open Spark AR for the first time, you will be requested to log in with your Facebook account. After entering the right login details, you will be greeted with a guided and simplified presentation of Spark AR's working interface.
Following the brief presentation, you will be directed to Spark AR's welcome screen, which looks like this. By default, Spark AR's welcome screen will be in the "Create New" section which gives you options to start your project from scratch or use custom templates.
The panel on the left allows you to "learn" about Spark AR through tutorials, launch a "recent project", or "open a project" from your laptop. In the "Create New" section, select "Blanc Project" to access the dashboard where you can create an effect from scratch. This new dashboard is the Spark AR working interface.

The Spark AR interface contains several features that can be grouped into 5 main blocks namely:
- Zone 1: The Toolbar
- Zone 2: The Scene Panel
- Zone 3 The Asset Panel
- Zone 4: The Viewport
- Zone 5: The Inspector
